FAQs : Frequency
Q12: Why should there be an increase in CPM as the clubs get shorter ascending or positive (slope) rather than the same CPM in every club (flat line)?
A12: If every club in a set was the same length and same swingweight, and they were swung at the same speed, then "flat line" frequency matching would make sense. However, normal sets of golf clubs consist of different length clubs. The long irons - which are hard to hit - require more tip flexible shafts. Short irons which are easier to hit require more tip stiff shafts for control. Thus the need for a set of shafts that increase in frequency as club length decreases.
